Livigno Ski

We've collated all the best Livigno skiing deals for you, so you just need to pick your favourite

Livigno Italy

The first thing to share is that Livigno is duty free. So if there is a shopper amongst your party then they will be right at home in the pedestrianised centre jumping in and out of the boutique shops. If that’s not you, but you get dragged along for the ride don’t worry as there are plenty of cafes and bars that can entertain you whist your shopper shops.

Livigno is just over the Swiss border, in fact the road to get into the valley crosses a dam after going through a tunnel over 1km long cut through the mountainside. The town is set in a valley floor with skiing on the mountains on both sides. Carosollo 3000 is the main gondola up one side of the valley. With lots of sweeping reds and a few blacks to challenge the more advanced skier. On the other side of the valley the Motollino offers more variety of pistes. It’s easy to get around the resort as the free ski buss runs along 4 different routes, meaning its easy for you to get to which ever lift you want to go to. And they run into the night, but don’t worry if you miss them, a taxi is fairly reasonable.

Livigno Ski Holidays

Ski schools are excellent and there are many, different one affiliated with different travel operators, but they all speak English and pretty much all of them have child care in various forms.

Due to the height of the resort, 3,000m, it is very snow sure and therefore tends to have a long season. You can pretty much guarantee snow in early December. A beautiful place and a great choice for a holiday.

Livigno Hotels

The Hotel Lac Salin is slap bang in the middle of the San Rocco area of Livigno, meaning it is next to the slopes and not far from the town centre. If style and comfort is what you are after in a hotel then this four and a half star hotel could be the one for you. The staff are really nice and friendly and the food is simply awesome. You can albeit ski back form the Doss draglift which takes you to the Carosello 3000 gondola. There’s a spa to get rid of those skiing derived aches and pains then get changed quickly so you can have a drink on the terrace and watch the sun set over the pistes, wonderful!

The Hotel Amerikan is a bit further away from the centre of town but still in the San Rocco area. You can cross the road and get to the Amerikan lift, so pretty convenient. This 4-star hotel has recently been refurbished and now oozes contemporary style with an alpine twist. A good choice for your holiday

Fancy staying in a hotel that has been open for over 100 years? If yes the Hotel Livigno could be the one for you. The location couldn’t really be more central, it’s only two hundred metres from the nearest lift (Cassana) and there is a ski bus stop right outside (all the ski busses in Livigno are free). In fact this was the first hotel to open in Livigno.

The Hotel Alexander is on the other side of the valley from the first 3 we have mentioned, very close to the Mottolino ski area. It’s a four star hotel which is relaxed. Maybe the reason it is a favourite with holiday makers could be the dessert buffet?!

Again, on the Mottolino side of Livigno the Hotel Intermonti, 4-star, is a huge hotel with 140 rooms. And nicely, for a luxury hotel, it is relaxed and even has an informal dress code for the waiter served evening dinner included with your half board skiing holiday.

Hotel St Michael is fairly central and very close to the Cassana ski lift. This is very much a modern 4 star and prides itself both on the Italian cuisine it serves and exceptional service delivered by its staff. A nice hotel

If self catering is more your thing then the Al Gal Apartments could be perfect for your ski trip. Not being tied to the hotel for your evening meal opens up the vast array of restaurants central Livigno has to offer.
